Annual Leave: 35 days pro rata plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield 

Applications are invited for a motivated Clinical Psychologist to join the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme at the University of Hertfordshire (UH). We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Psychologist to contribute specialist knowledge in an area or areas to complement the current teaching and research interests of the DClinPsy Team, and in particular, to continue and expand the exciting decolonising work that is already being done on the programme.

Main duties and responsibilities

The role is varied but will specifically be focused on further expanding and developing the programmes research streams in line with decolonising principles and the principles of social justice and human rights that underscore the programme as well as identifying and implementing strategies to ensure that the DClinPsy research streams meet their full potential in terms of dissemination. In addition, the role includes contribution to the support of trainee research, research teaching, and marking on the DClinPsy programme and you will offer research supervision to both major research projects and consultation to service-related projects.

Skills and experience required

You will have experience of using quantitative and qualitative research metholds and the ability to plan and manage own activities effectively with proficiency in English Language. The ability to demonstrate initiative and the ability to learn new skills along with a systematic approach with demonstrable attention to detail are essential for this role. You will have good oral and written communication skills in both spoken and written English as well as excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and good time management and organisational skills. Being flexible and adaptable to workloads and conflicting deadlines as well as being effective in a team setting with a committed approach to issues related to equality, diversity and inclusion are essential for this role. You will also have a commitment to scholarship and research in Clinical Psychology and knowledge of areas relevant to a clinical psychologist and/or to clinical psychology training.                                                 

Qualifications required

You will hold a Doctorate (or close to completion no later than September 2024) in clinical Psychology, PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
